2. Do I need a credit card or checking account to have a Pocketpass?

Since Pocketpass is a stored value card, it operates on a cash system. If you wanted to buy or recharge your card online, then we would require a credit card or checking account to fund your transaction. If you have security concerns, you could always buy a Pocketpass at a retail store with cash. You can also buy or recharge Pocketpass with another Pocketpass.

3. How does it work?

You can buy Pocketpass online. It is a stored-value card that comes with an Access number and PIN. You can then do one of the following:
  • Make phone calls at an honest, low rate of 7.9 cents using the access number and PIN on the card. There are no connection fees, surcharges or monthly fees. Calling rates to other countries are listed online at www.pocketpass.com.
  • Send or receive money from others by just using an email address and your Pocketpass. You would fill out your friend's email address and the amount you want to send him. Pocketpass would send an email with a link, informing him of the funds available to him. All he has to do is click on the link. Your account would be deducted accordingly. Similarly you can receive money into your Pocketpass account.
  • Buy or sell at auction sites without using your credit card. Just use Pocketpass to pay/receive money for items, instead of waiting for checks to clear or credit card payments to come through.
  • Soon, you can buy content or merchandise at web stores using Pocketpass.

None. We don't gather any information about you other than what you specifically provide to us. If you wish to remain anonymous at Pocketpass, you can. Obviously, if you use a credit card to buy a Pocketpass or (as an option) you plug in an e-mail address that provides a limited way for us to contact you. 10. How secure is Pocketpass?

11. How can I make a phone call with Pocketpass?

Making a phone call with Pocketpass is easy! From any telephone, dial the Pocketpass Access number: 1.877.770.7277 (1.877.770.PASS). When told to do so, dial in the 14-digit PIN number printed on your Pocketpass. Then dial the phone number you wish to call. For calls within USA, Canada, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, dial the area code and phone number (you don't need to dial a 1). For international calls, dial 011, then the country code, city code and phone number. To make another call, or if you make a mistake dialing at any time, just hold down the pound sign (#) for about 2 seconds. Once in a while you may find a privately owned pay phone, which won't dial any digits after you dial the Pocketpass Access Number. This has nothing to do with the Pocketpass. The payphone owner is illegally blocking calls to any phone card or voice mail system. Just find another payphone. (ALL telecard calls from payphones, regardless of your provider, have a 50-cent surcharge.

This will give you an opportunity to cash out if desired.
